Donna Gee, RN, JD
Founding Director | Paramount Law Group

Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta)

Recipient of the King Charles III’s Coronation Medal
Born in Calgary and raised for several years on her family’s vegetable farm in Banff National Park, Donna grew up in a multigenerational, second-generation immigrant household. Her upbringing instilled enduring values of hard work, service, and community—principles that continue to guide her personal and professional life. She returned to Calgary with her family, where she has built strong ties and lasting roots in the community.
Before becoming a lawyer in 2004, Donna worked as a Registered Nurse in mental health, community health, and general medicine, with a special focus on seniors’ care and quality of life. Her legal practice includes family law, elder law, Wills and estates, estate litigation, and administrative law (Mental Health Reviews, Parole Board Hearings, Workers’ Compensation, among others). She also advises on represented adult matters, capacity issues, executorships, and has served as a personal representative for select clients.
Donna has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and has the unique ability to think outside the box, combining practical insight, tenacity, and unwavering commitment to help her clients through complex and personal matters. As a mother and part of a close-knit nuclear family, she brings insight and empathy to parenting and co-parenting matters and understands the emotional complexities families often face.
She has received both the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her public service and professional contributions across Alberta.
Donna’s community involvement includes:
• Chair, Southern Alberta Elder Law Section, Canadian Bar Association (CBA)
• Past Chair, National Elder Law Section, CBA
• Past President, Arbour Lake Community Association
• Board Member, including but not limited to the KERBY Centre, Seniors Resource Council of Alberta (SRCA), the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, and other organizations supporting seniors, health, and community development.
She has been invited and has spoken at many events—whether through educational institutions such as the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), with teachers, post-secondary institutions, or at various community-based and professional functions—particularly on issues relating to seniors, family law, and often the intersection of the two.
Donna is proud to lead a firm known for its compassion, strong advocacy, and dedication to client service.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with family, friends, puppies, and exploring interesting destinations near and far.
